I hate that when I mention that my son is/was in the hospital, people seem so concerned. Then when they find out that he has a mental illness, it somehow becomes insignificant. He isn't really sick. Or when he comes home he will be all better. Or somehow when he is in the psych hospital it is less stressful than any other sort of hospitalization.
That's bullshit.
PS...Chase is still doing well. Just needed to vent.

I'm sorry to hear that. That type of response is just a little ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI get that too, and I finally had to blog how our church could help us during hospitalizations because they weren't getting how hard it was. They have responded and want to do better.
